Married Thomas Jefferson Duncan 15 Aug 1853 in Saline, Arkansas.

She was a tender mother here,
And in her life the Lord did tear;
We trust our loss will be her gain
And that in Christ she's gone to reign.

Born in Mississippi, to: William Bullion (1784 1853)and
Naomi Amelia 'Amy' Bolling (1786 1853). married Thomas Jefferson Duncan on August 15, 1853, in Arkansas, when she was 20 years old.

Mariah and Thomas Jefferson left Arkansas, in about 1853, headed to Texas. They were going to settle in Oatmeal, Texas, but along the way, they heard of the Indian Uprisings, so they redirected themselves to Liberty Hill, close to the San Gabriel River. They built a home and large barn there on about 120 acres. Their 8 children were raised in the old small home in the wooded hill country.

Children: William Alexander "Alex" Duncan 1854 1946 ;
John Franklin Duncan 1857 1883 ;Thomas Jefferson Duncan (Jr.) 1859 1939 ; Matilda Jane "Mattie" Duncan 1862 1925;
Robert Eli "Bob" Duncan 1863 1952; James Wilson 'Shark' Duncan 1866 1944 ; Joseph Lytle "Ned" Duncan 1870 1949 ;
Haden "Hade" Darling Duncan 1872 1947.

2 of Mariah's brothers lived close by, across the San Gabriel River. They are buried in the same cemetary.

They had many grandchildren and gr-great grandchildren. It made for a large Duncan clan.

Her Granddaughter said she died from Pneumonia complications, at home, with sister-in-laws tending her.
