Elizabeth Jane Logan was born December 23, 1824* in Rockbridge County, Virginia. On July 18, 1843 she married her first cousin, Rev. Robert Logan, who was a Presbyterian preacher.
The family migrated from Virginia to South Carolina, then to Georgia, and finally settled in Fort Worth, Texas sometime before the 1880 U.S. census. There were nine children, but so far only seven have been found:
Maria Louisa Logan (1844-1844)
Lilias Sophia Logan (1847-1896)
John Joseph Logan (1850-1850)
John Robert Logan (1852-1898)
William Lee Logan (1857-1935)
(Unknown) Logan, (b. aft 1857)
Joseph Morton Logan (1866-1951)
After her husband died in 1896, Elizabeth went to live with her son William Lee Logan and his family in Fort Worth. Sadly, the 1900 U.S. census shows that only 2 of her 9 children were still livng. By the time of the 1910 U.S. census, they were living in Dallas, Texas.
Elizabeth died on April 25, 1912 at the home of her youngest son, Joseph Morton, in Fort Worth, Texas. She is buried in the same family plot as her daughter Lilias, son John Robert, and her granddaughter Louise Logan.
My great great grandmother.
