Born 25 Feb 1925 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Glenn Dawson Brown and Lorena (Brink) Brown.

Died suddenly in Pasadena, California early Sunday morning 21 Mar 1976. He had gone to bed listening to his favorite jazz station. Bernie had a fatal heart attack some time after that. He was only fifty-one years old.

He married Dorothy Melland in September 1950. They travelled the world together and they had four children: Jefferson Melland Brown, Regan Marie Brown, Rebecca Lee Brown, and Cordelia Brink Brown.

Bernie was everything. He could sing and play any instrument. He had a been a reveille bugler in the service. He also studied and taught electronics during the war, as well as earning a bronze star for heroism in five different theaters of war.
