Lewie Montgomery passed away on May 28, 1998. Funeral Services will be Monday, June 1 at 2PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Chapel, presided by the Rev, Phillip McLarty, followed by a Masonic burial at Sunset memorial Gardens in Odessa.

Lewie was born in Mount Ida, Ark., July 10, 1914. He married Iwana "Pinkie" Montgomery of Smackover, Ark., in 1944. That year, they moved to Odessa from Arkansas. In 1945, he established Lewie Montgomery Trucking Company and retired in 1980.

Lewie was a 50 year member of McFarland Masonic Lodge, the Oil Field Haulers Association, the Odessa Chuck Wagon Gang, and the Rocky Mountain Pipeline Contractors Association.

Lewie served his country during World War II by working on the "War Emergency Pipeline".

He is survived by Iwana "Pinkie" Montgomery of San Antonio, daughter Patsy Hunt of San Antonio, sons Jimmy Montgomery of Dallas, Douglas Montgomery Manor of San Antonio; five grandchildren, Summer Perry, Penny Scott, Lisa Hill, Jason Hunt and David Montgomery, sister Betty Dowell of Glenwood, Arkansas, brother-in-law John Braden of Hot Springs, Arkansas, six great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
