Connie Sue (Reid) Lemon

Passed away February 12, 2011 in Lady Lake, Florida. Born October 10th, 1939 to Wayne and Rhuby (Dull) Reid in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Connie was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in October of 2009. The Chemo treatments had the Breast Cancer beat but the cancer progressed into the muscles of her body and she was later diagnosed with "Dermatomyositis" which is a gradual weakening and deterioration of the muscles. In June, 2010 she reached a plateau and fought a long, lingering, battle until finally succumbing.

Connie graduated from Richland, Michigan High School in 1957. In 1957 she married Larry Graff with whom she had two children, Becky and Charles. Larry and Connie divorced in 1967. On April 23, 1970 she married James Lemon. She worked as a Secretary for Clarage Fan Company until they closed their doors in 1983. In 1983 Jim & Connie moved to Homestead, Florida and she went to work for Charles Rowe, Esq. and became a legal secretary. When she retired in 2005 she was working for Stearns, Weaver, et al, a large Law Firm in Miami, Florida. In 2005 the Lemon's moved to Lady Lake, Florida.

Jim & Connie had two main hobbies which afforded them the excuse, and opportunity, to do a lot of traveling throughout the United States and Canada. Their main hobbies were raising and showing rabbits and family genealogy. Connie was very active in many National and Local rabbit clubs winning many awards and honors. In her spare time Connie enjoyed cooking, sewing and many other handicrafts. Connie was known by her family and friends for her laughter and love of life.

Mrs. Lemon was preceeded in death by her parents, half siblings Robert Reid, Virginia Barry, Jane Bernard, and a Sister, Nancy Grivins. She is survived by her husband, one brother Norman Reid and 2 sisters, Frances Landsberger and Sharon Nunnelee. She is also survived by her two children, Becky Bohne and Charles Graff, a Stepson, Kevin Lemon and 2 Stepdaughters, Michelle Brazier and Teresa Kniesly. There are also many Nieces, Nephews and 8 Grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at the Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake, Florida on Feb. 15th at 3 PM with a viewing from 1PM to 3PM and at the Langland Funeral Home in Galesburg, Michigan on Feb. 18th at 1PM with a viewing from 11AM to 1PM. Internment will be in the Cook Cemetery, OP Ave. Pavilion Twp., Scotts, Michigan. In Lieu of flowers please make a donation, in Connie's name, to the Breast Cancer Society.
