Mrs. Virginia Reed of Channahon, who celebrated her 100th birthday April 9, died Sunday (May 26, 1968) following a long illness. A lifelong resident of Channahon Township, Mrs. Reed had been confined for the past few years to the Pleasant Center Nursing Home in Joliet.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 1936; by her parents, Peter and Zora Frederick; and by a son, Edward.
Survivors include two sons, William H. Reed and Thomas L. Reed, both of Joliet; a sister, Mrs. Clara Begler of Wilmington; Two brothers, Phillip and William Frederick of Channahon; three grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
