The 24th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment that served in the Union Army during the American Civil war. It was organized at Lexington, Kentucky and mustered in for a three-year enlistment on Dec 31, 1861.
Detailed service. The regiment moved to Louisville, Kentucky Jan 1, 1862. The next move was to Bardstown, Spring Garden, Lebanon and Munfordville, Kty. and a march to Nashville Tenn, Feb 17-25. So Alfred Bailey died Feb 13, 1862, most likely in Louisville, Kentucky. Cause of death unknown at this time.
