Claude was one of those brilliant men who can accomplish just about anything they put their mind to. With minimal schooling and a very humble background he managed to elevate himself as a self-taught electrical engineer who helped design and implement the power plant in North Platte, Nebraska; also serving in civic affairs, raising a large family with his Belgian born wife and caring for his
invalid mother.

He was a long time member and Master of the Royal Secret of the 32nd Degree of the Said Rite in the Masonic Lodge at North Platte, Nebraska, and was also a member of the A.O.U.W. lodge and a communicant of the Episcopal Church.

He was struck down unexpectedly at the age of 41 by Bright's Disease, to which he succombed even as his wife carried their 6th & 7th babies; twin sons.

To this day his intelligence, bravery, work ethic and love of family are remembered & revered by his descendants.
