Thomas Carroll Cossin, went home to heaven, his mother and brothers acting as guiding angels. Graveside services and burial will be held at Brazoria Cemetery on January 24, 2006. Visitation was held at Baker Funeral Home in Brazoria.

Born January 12, 1943, in Charleston, Kanawha Co., WV, he died on January 20, 2006, in Galveston at UTMB. His parents were Oshall H. Cossin and Sadie Bostic Cossin. Tom moved to Texas in 1963 to work at the shipyards in Freeport as a welder. Next he worked for years as a captain of shrimp/oyster boats. In 1993, he introduced the family to his love of racing, as his family had long been into the race scene in West Virginia. He was a big fan of NASCAR, and had a huge collection of antique and model cars, knives, watches and other race memorabilia. He enjoyed nautical and sea-faring designs. He loved storytelling and often embellished or exaggerated, but that just made the story more fun to hear. He never met a stranger and could engage in conversation with just about any person he met. His beloved wife, Sally Dawson Cossin, was his loving caregiver for many years, since he'd suffered from a heart attack in 1983. When you want to see "True Love," we could just look at them. His children are Patty and Randy Risinger, Sheila and Chuck Blum, Rhonda and John Gay, Laura and James Thompson, Weldon and Mendy Smith, Linda and Steve Ramirez, Eric and Melissa Reedy, and Steven Cossin and Monica Frankovich. He was the proud grandfather of 19 and great-grandfather of five, with two on the way. He will be sorely missed by his sister, Delores and Pete Bailey; brother, Denver and Lisa Cossin; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Cossin; all the adoring nieces and nephews; and the man he called stepdad, George Douglas and family. He was lately united with his lost twin brothers families, and was most happy about it. A special thanks to his "new" niece, Angie Edwards Taylor in West Virginia. And lastly by his side, his dachshund Lil Lady will stay forever.

Tom will be sorely missed as he was a living legend, and will be our "Angel Amongst Us."
