My great-grandfather
He was the only son, born to Mathias Langley and Susan Emmilne Holland Langley.
He married Zylphia Busby,Dec.23,1886,in Wayne County,Ms.

I went to see a lady in Wayne Co. Ms. who knew my great grandfather,Bud Langley, her name is Mildred Pitts,we were sitting out in her yard and she told me stories about Bud Langley that she could remember. She said,Bud lived on one hill and she lived on another close by and Bud,was a drinking man and on Saturday night he would start hitting the bottle out in the yard. Well he would start singing. I could hear him from my house singing his songs She said,I can still remember the words to one song he would sing and it went like this, coffee grows on green oak trees and the river flows with brandy and put a little sugar in your coffee oh, then he would yodel. Miss Mildred said, he was a very good yodeler. Your Grandpa was a very jolly person, she said he would sit in the corn cribs, and speak to everyone who passed by. She said get your Daddy to tell you about the corn cribs, he can remember them. It was a very pleasant visit I had with Miss Mildred, she invited me back, and I look forward to going back for another visit. I left Miss Mildred's house and went back to my father's house and asked him about the corn cribs, and he did remember them. He lives on the same land where his grandpa and his father lived. He said, well, right out there he had a corn crib on each side of the road, they reached over the road, when people came by they would pass under them. Then Daddy remembered a story of his grandpa Langley. He said, grandpa would say,the Lord made the world, then he rested, he made man and rested, he made woman and no body has rested since.
Hezikiah Langley Sr. donated land for West Shady Grove Baptist Church and cemetary. This was land that his father and mother, Mathias and Susan had settled and passed on to their son, Hezikiah.According to the deed, he gave this land in 1911.
