Martha Ann "Marty" Endwright, age 87, passed away at the Meadowood Health Pavilion on Friday, February 25, 2011, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She truly was "The Wind Beneath Our Wings" and will be remembered as a very caring and gracious lady.

Marty was born in Monroe County on September 9, 1923. She graduated from Bloomington High School and attended Indiana University. Marty married the love of her life, John Endwright, on April 4, 1942 and they had three children; Anna Marie, Johnna Sue and Randy. Marty was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother and a wonderful friend to many people.

Her hobbies included spending time at the Lake Lemon cottage with family and friends, gardening, and playing cards, especially bridge. She was an avid sports fan and loyally followed I.U. Basketball and Colt's Football.

Marty was a member of The Sherwood Oaks Christian Church, The University Women's Club, The I.U. Varsity Club, The Elks Club Auxiliary, The American Legion Auxiliary, The Red Hat Society and several bridge and card clubs.

Marty was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Inez Fiscus, her husband of 58 years, John Endwright, retired Dean of the I.U. School of HPER and her daughter, Johnna Sue Endwright.

She is survived by her daughter, Anna Marie Dixon and her husband, Jerry, son, Randy Endwright and his wife, Nancy, six grandchildren, Clint Binkley and his wife, Addie, Angela Henderson and her husband, Jon, Adam Endwright and his fiancée, Christine Reynolds, Sara Beth Shear and her husband, David, Lea Dixon Bell, and a special cousin, Lynnett Robison Scozzari, and her husband, Anthony. Marty is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Samantha and Emily Bell, Yesenia, Elysia and Angelica Binkley and Dakota Scozzari. In addition, she is survived by a sister, Barbara Fiscus and her husband, Beryl, and honorary grandsons, Michael and Craig Knickerbocker, plus many wonderful friends.

Arrangements are being handled by The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, and viewing will be held from 2-6pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at The Funeral Chapel and one hour before the celebration of Marty's life which will be held at 11:00am Wednesday at The Funeral Chapel with Tom Ellsworth officiating.

Graveside services will be held at Valhalla Memory Gardens.

The family requests that memorial contributions please be made to the I.U. Foundation, John Endwright Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 500 Bloomington, IN 47402-0500.

(Martha was a faithful member of Sherwood Oaks Christian
Church where she could be found each Lord's Day seated in front of the Minister's pulpit and listening to the Word of God about her Lord . She was there the Sunday before she stepped into Heaven to be with Jesus forever .)

Born Anna Belle Robertson====Aunt Martha was born to Jason Robertson & Myrtle Belle Waggoner Robertson. Her mother Myrtle Belle died when Martha was 2 years old. She was blessed to have been adopted by the Fiscus Family.
