The funeral for Thelma Winfield, 80, will be 2 p.m. Monday atFirst Assembly of God Church. The Revs. Dan Barrick and Robert Florence will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

She was born March 14, 1922, in Hennessey to Roscoe "Pete" and Daisy Driskell Walton, and died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at her home.

She was raised by foster parents, Jeff and Lula Craighead, at Mutual, and attended school at Richmond and Woodward.

She married Neal Winfield Jan. 27, 1942, at Enid. They made their home in the Enid and Ponca City area for many years. She was a homemaker and a waitress. They returned to Enid in 1985 . He died June 24, 1988, after 46 years [of marriage]*. She was a member of Junior Thrift Extension Club, American Legion Auxiliary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans and Ex-POWS. She was a member of Community Christian Church in Ponca City and First Assembly of God in Enid.

Surviving are three children, Mary Page of Goltry, Danny Winfield of Midwest City, and Peggy Newman of Enid; two sisters, Jewell Smith of Illinois and Goldie Presley of Kansas; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal, one daughter [Virginia Cross]** and four brothers.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice Circle of Love, with the funeral home acting as custodian of the fund.
