She attended Villa Heights Elementary School and Tech High School in Charlotte, and graduated from Myrtle Beach High School in Myrtle Beach, SC, in 1944.
During WW2 she worked in a parachute assembly plant in Charlotte.
In August, 1944, she married Ralph J Miller of Charlotte and in 1946 had a son, Stephen M. Miller.
In 1950 she and Ralph separated and Hilda moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida, with Stephen, and stayed with her sister Daphene H. Earley.
She found work at Christo's 5c & 10c store in Fort Walton, managed by Myron F Curtis.
She advanced to Office Manager at Christo's and in 1955 she and Myron were married.
She and Myron continued working at Christo's until 1976.
In her later years she operated a florist shop and raised orchids.
She enjoyed watercolor painting.
