~MY ANCESTOR~
Daughter of Rev. Nathan & Dorothy (Hawley) Birdseye and grand-daughter of Joseph & Sarah (Thompson) Birdseye of Stratford and Rev. Thomas & Abigail (Gold) Hawley of Ridgefield. Helen married Josiah Peck on Nov. 9, 1774 (probably in Stratford). They were the parents of 7 children including my ancestor, Birdsey Peck.

Her broken stone lies between her husband's broken stone and the fallen tombstone of her son, Thaddeus, who donated the land for the Union Cemetery. The other picture shows the area (the back of the cemetery & to the right of the road) where the old Peck stones are located.
