Naturalization Record dated November 4, 1806 Chester Co. Book A, p.50. Emigration from United Kingdom, probably Scotland, possibly Ireland.
First owned land in 1798 in Chester, purchasing portion of Blair Tract, and later portion of Walker tract. Patrick's wife was Margaret (Peggy)McCullough.
Eight children, 7 of which were male. Christopher, his 4th son, was my gggrandfather; he lived in Fairfield County.
Son Hugh's descendants still reside in South Carolina.
His son Charles' descendants still reside in Florida.
His son James was a carpenter, building houses, some of which are still in existence in Chester County. Cedar Leaf is in Lewis Turnout, owned by Joanna Angle, in Historical Registry.
His son Robert was a postmaster early; record of his descendants is not certain.
Patrick's eldest son William died before 1848; William had one son of his own named James Monroe Phinney, who was killed at the Battle of Seven Pines, May 1862.
