Stephen Lynn Bigham
Birth: Mar. 29, 1947
Saint Joseph
Buchanan County
Missouri, USA
Death: Sep. 22, 1991
North Kansas City
Clay County
Missouri, USA

Son-in-law of Robert Dale and Helen Alfrieda (Carpenter) Staton.

Husband of Marsha Colleen Staton.

Son of George William and Fern Evelyn Strong Bigham. Brother of David Van, Mark Eric, and Dolores Diane. Steve graduated from West Platte High School in Weston, Missouri in 1965. After high school, he joined the Navy and went to Viet Nam. He was on the ship USS Henry W Tucker. After the Navy he got a job in Kansas City, Missouri at Bob's IGA Grocery Company. I met him there in 1984. His boss set us up. Neither of us was too crazy about the idea. We found out later that we had a lot in common. We dated for 2 years and got married after Steve asked my dad's permission on October 18, 1986. We chose that date because it was my parents' anniversary. Steve always wanted to be a parent. The closest he came to that was in 1988 we were foster parents to a little girl named Annie. We were looking into adoption but then on November 1, 1989 Steve was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma cancer. It was later learned that it was a result of Agent Orange exposure in Viet Nam. Steve was not just my husband, he was also my best friend. I could have never found anyone that my family would have loved or accepted more. Sometimes I feel cheated but I do thank God for the seven years that I had Steve. I feel that I was chosen by God to make Steve's last seven years happy ones. I did my best God.
