Born Ramón Molina Hernández in Cineguetas, Vega Alta, Puerto Rico to Francisca Hernandez (he was born the day before her 21st birthday) and Agustin Ramos.

Beloved husband of María Dolores Serra for 42 years, he was also the loving father of Valerie (born 1967), Richard (1970-1972), Jesús Ramón (born 1974), Luis Alberto (born 1975), Juan Carlos (born 1976) and Lourdes Milagros (born 1979). He was a loving father-in-law to Ralph Betancourt and a doting grandfather to Ralph Luke (born 1997), Richard (born 2001) and Natalia María (born two days after his burial on September 19, 2016).

As a career man, Ramon served both in the U.S. Army (during the Korean conflict he was stationed in White Sands, New Mexico), the U.S. Merchant Marines, and later worked as a motorman for the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) for over 25 years. Settling with his wife and daughter in the Wakefield section of the Bronx in September 1972, Ramon woke up every morning at 4:00am to start the two hour trek to his check-in station on Jay Street in Brooklyn to start an 8 to sometimes 12 hour work day operating mainly the A line of the city's subway system which stretched from Inwood in northern Manhattan to Far Rockaway in Queens. He retired from the MTA in 1994 and later relocated briefly to Orlando, Florida where he worked at Publix Supermarket on South Orange Blossom Trail. He moved back to the Bronx in 1999, where he resided in Co-op City and later worked as a doorman for the Riverbay Corporation for one of their residential buildings in Section 4. Due to declining health, he resigned in June 2010 and later spent his final years at an assisted living hospice in New Jersey.

He was also a devoted brother to paternal half-siblings Porfirio Ramos, Neftalí Ramos Pabón, Irma Ramos Pabón de Navarro, Lydia Ramos Pabón de Hernández and Rosa Ramos Pabón de Rosado.

He was also a devoted brother to maternal half-siblings Celestino ("Tino"), Carmen, María Providencia ("Provi"), María Concepción ("Concy"), Ramonita, Reyes, Altagracia, Graciano ("Chano"), Aquilino, Dolores ("Lolo"), and Bernarda ("Nanda").

He succumbed to complications from Alzheimer's and diabetes on September 15, 2016 - two months shy of his 90th birthday.
