Obituary - Wayne Dean Foote "Footsie," age 59 passed away from this earthly existence Thursday, October 31, 2002 with his wife at his side in their home in Magna, Utah of causes incident to Multiple Sclerosis.
He was born Nov 9, 1942, in Salt Lake City, UT to Clair Leslie and Amanda Josephine Benson Foote. He was third of five children. He spent his childhood and school years in Salt Lake City.
He joined the Army when he was 17 and spent his military time in Korea. He retired from Kennecott Copper as a Journeyman Electrician in 1994.
Wayne felt his greatest role in life was Husband, Father and Granddad. He loved the sound of children at play, being in the outdoors, fishing and the beautiful scenery of the mountains. He found great joy in serving others.
Wayne is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and over the years held various leadership positions, including serving as Bishop in the Pleasant Green Second Ward for seven and a half years. He served a mission, after the death of his first wife, in the Church Office Building.
He married Trudy May Lossee, in 1964, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died in 1995. They were blessed with five daughters.
He married Barbara Anne Brownell, Feb 14, 1999, in Magna UT. Their marriage was solemnized in the Jordan River Temple on July 23, 2002. She brought to the marriage two daughters and two sons.
Combined children by age are Vicki (Randy) Lang, Kaye Barraza (Armando Meraz), Desirea Molina, Sherri (Manuel) Santos, Jenni Foote, James A. McCoy Jr., Stacy (Mathew) Trickel, Andi (Jim) Eddens, Justin (Melisa) McCoy.
Wayne's siblings are Leslie (Eileen) Foote, Garry (Georgia) Foote, Bernice (Joseph) Pinelle, Robert (Jody) Foote and a stepbrother, Lawerence (Robin) Chambers.
He was blessed with 22 grandchildren, Brett, Jeanni, Josh, Cassi, Joseph, Matthew, Lucas, Sarah, Jessica, Cameron, Marisa, Baylee, Jamie, Aron, Manuelito, Nico, Vanessa, Ciara, Tate, Jordan, Douglas, Ashton and Rebecca (on the way #23).
The Family wishes to express a special thank you to his doctor and friend, Dr. John Dietlein, his special nurse, Amalia Dy, his friend and therapist, Frank, and Hospice nurse, Jennifer Shaw.
In lieu of flowers, Wayne had suggested a donation to The MS Society.
Services will be 12 noon Tues. Nov 5, 2002, at the Pleasant Green Chapel, 8739 West 3000 South. Friends may call Mon. 6-8 p.m. at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, and Tues. 10-11:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment: Pleasant Green Cemetery.
