Harold was a Private in the United States Army Air Corps and served his country during World War II.

Harold Q. Dustin, 96, of Walpole Valley Road, died Monday (July 21, 1997) at Springfield Health % Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.

He was born in Hill, N.H., on May 22, 1901, the son of Quincy and Grace (Cheney) Dustin.

He attended schools in Bristol, N.H.,and resided in Ludlow and Springfield for many years.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and later made his home in South Berwick, Maine, for several years. He had lived in Walpole since 1971.

Mr. Dustin was employed by the Springfield School District for many years while he lived in Springfield. He was a longtime member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Springfield and was a lay minister.

He was a member of St. James Masonic Lodge No. 51 in South Berwick and a former member and past commander of the Ballard Hobert American Legion Post in Ludlow.

Survivors include his wife, Doris (Lynde) Dustin of Walpole, whom he married on July 23, 1963 in Springfield; two daughters, Pearl Hartnett of Saxtons River and Barbara Arnold of Prescott, Ariz.; four sons, Robert Dustin of West Baldwin, Maine, Richard Dustin of Tilton, N.H., Stanley Dustin of Hilton Beach, Ontario, Canada, and Glenn Dustin; one stepson, Ronald Clark of Charlestown; three stepdaughters, Patricia Clark of Keene, N.H., Marilyn Kimball of Saxtons River and Julie Smith of Bellows Falls; numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Thelma Dustin, in 1960 and one daughter, Gloria Gallagher.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 tonight at the Davis Memorial Chapel at 99 Summer St. in Springfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Calvary Baptist Church in Springfield. The Rev. Thomas W. Hiltsley, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.
