RUTH HARRIS BANKEY passed away peacefully at home in San Antonio, Texas, on Sunday, January 24, 2010, at the age of 92. Ruth was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend, and will be greatly missed. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Oscar Bankey; her brother Jim Harris; and her sister Evannoa Hall. She is survived by her daughter, Terralea Gilbert; son, Mark Bankey and wife Janet; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Lois Boult and Dean Inman; and numerous relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010, from 6 - 9 PM, at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77077. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2010, at 2:00 PM, at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Permanent Endowment Fund, 6800 Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78240-3898.
