Son of Sterling Brewer and Mary LNU; Served in Brown's 55th Regt., Co. B. from Benton County, Tennessee. Died in Camp Douglas the same day as his cousin William Bryant Brewer. Their in-law, Benjamin Franklin Farmer, who was also taken to Camp Douglas, was released upon oath of allegiance.
Note: One of 6,000 Confederate soldiers buried here who died as Prisoners of War at Camp Douglas in Chicago.
