Mrs. Otto (Madeline E.) Berninger, 78, of Yuma, Ariz., a former Federal Way resident, died Sunday in Oregon. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. Berninger had lived in Federal Way from 1960 to 1977 and in Enumclaw until 1979 when she moved to California. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Mildred) Portzer of Seattle, and Mrs. Ralph (Elaine) Cox of Aloha, Ore.; two sons, Harold of Yuma and Walter of Enumclaw; a sister, Mrs. Lew (Sarah) Hinsey of Exmore, Va.; and 12 grandchildren.
