Bud Blocker was a Hopkins Co, TX, native who moved to Parker Co, TX with his parents, John and Lucinda (Duff) Blocker, in the early 1860s. Bud and his brothers, James and Newt, later raced in the Oklahoma Land Rush, seeking best land for farm sites and settling in what is now Beckham Co.
