According to the Alabama Marriage Collection , 1800-1969 which is online on ancestry.com , Elizabeth Moore married John Hall on October 3 , 1834 in Greene County , Alabama . John Hall and Elizabeth Moore Hall were the parents of these eight children : Jordon , William A. , Amanda , Mary Ann , James Petty , John , Leonidas , and Cornelius C. Hall. Jordon Hall who married Nannie Davis in Mississippi died in Mobile , Alabama while serving as a Confederate soldier in the Civil War . William A. Hall married Margaret Davis , a sister of his sister-in-law Nannie Davis Hall . Amanda Hall became the wife of Wiley E. Coleman who also lived in Greene County , Alabama . Mary Ann's husband was David Coleman whose brother was Wiley E. Coleman . John's bride was Miss Pink Hardy of Greene County , Alabama . Leonidas' bride Mollie Wilkinson also lived in Greene County , Alabama . Cornelius C. ( Cornelia ) married John Hardy whose sister Pink had married John Hall. James Petty Hall married Hephzibah Elmira "Hepsa" Hancock of Chickasaw County , Mississippi. Elizabeth Moore Hall , John Hall's widow , died on Feb. 9 , 1875 . ( The information on John and Elizabeth Moore Hall's children was given in A BRIEF SKETCH OF THE FAMILY HISTORY OF JOHN HALL AND FAMILY wrote originally by James Petty Hall on June 1 , 1926 with Imogene Springer of Calhoun City , Mississippi supplying to Charles Black James Petty (J.P.) Hall's family information to edit , format , and be published . The entire article is online on the Greene county , Alabama Genealogy web site .) Individual records for the 1850 census in Greene county , Alabama listed these Hall children : Sarah A. Hall - 16 , Jordan Hall 15 , William A. Hall - 13 , Amanda Hall - 12 , Mary Ann Hall - 10 , James P. Hall - 8 , John W. Hall - 6 , Leonidas Hall 5 , and Cornelia C. Hall 2 with James R. Ward , Jane and Eliza Ward but that was incorrect , a transcriber's mistake . Actually on the census the Ward family were listed as living in one household . The Hall family was in the next household with John Hall and his wife Elizabeth listed at the bottom of the census page and all the Hall children listed on the next census page . ( Hopefully in time since the census is correct ancestry will correct the inaccurate transcription mixing up the families . )
