He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he served in Patton's 3rd Army Tank Destroyers. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lowell.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Loneta Blevins of Rogers; sons, Randy Blevins of Rogers, Rick Blevins and wife, Kathy, of Rogers, Brian Blevins of Lincoln; grandchildren, Kyle Blevins of Rogers, Joshua Blevins of Little Rock, Morgan Blevins of Rogers, Quinn Blevins of Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Carlyee Blevins and Banks Blevins; and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, one sister; and a son, Vol Douglas "Zephyr" Blevins.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at First Baptist Church in Lowell. Burial follows at 1 p.m. at Paces Chapel Cemetery near Garfield.
