Reuben R. Love was the son of James and Loviska (Beach) Love. During the Civil War he enlisted as a private March 6, 1864, and was mustered into Company D, 68th Ohio Infantry. Private Love was mustered out at Louisville, Kentucky, on July 10, 1865. Reuben was admitted to the Ohio State Soldiers' Home at Sandusky, Ohio, where he later died. Reuben was buried in the soldiers' home cemetery.
