SPANISH AMERICAN WAR VETERAN
Charley Adams was the son of John Qunicy and Mary (Mollie) (Herrell) Adams. He was born December 21, 1881 in Missouri. He had many siblings, Arch, Mattie, William, Andrew, Mary, Carroll, Arthur Lee and Elsie. He had two known sons, Dallas and Fred. Wife is unknown.
MILITARY RECORD: Enlisted January 23, 1902 in Joplin, Missouri. Served in Company "A", 5th U. S. Infantry. Discharged as a Private on January 2, 1905. Awarded a pension on Certificate No. 1264524.
At the age of 49 years in July 1931, Mr. Adams applied for admission to the Washington Veterans' Home. He indicated he was 6-1/2 inches tall, had a dark complexion, and was a resident of King County. He had lilved continuously in Washington state since 1919. At the time he was a widower and had two living sons, Dallas and Fred Adams.
Mr.Adams died February 12, 1936 age the age of 54 years in Port Orchard, Washington. He was on furlough from the Home at the time. He is buried in the Washington Veterans' Home Cemetery in Section 26, Lot 18.
