Donald Paul Franklin, 86 of Springfield went to be with his Lord and Saviour Saturday evening August 13, 2011 in Brookhaven Health Care Center.

Don was born Jan. 31, 1925 in Baldwin Park, Calif. to Rev. Paul Bramwell & Velma (Rogers) Franklin. He served in the Army during WWII. Don was an ordained minister of the Assembly of God faith serving in Houston, Texas, Battle Creek, Michigan, Wichita and Kansas City, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Pauline Butler. Don is survived by his wife Lola Franklin of the home, two sons, Steven Franklin and his wife Julie of Battle Creek, Mich. and David Franklin and his wife Becky of Yakima, Wash., ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two nieces, and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 17, 2011 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut Street with Pastor Owen Carr officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. Wednesday until service time in the funeral home.

Private committal services will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace Assembly of God 514 W. Mt. Vernon St. Springfield, MO 65806.
