Deceased Name: Roy C. Burrous
Roy Dutch C. Burrous, 77, of Topeka passed away at his home on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007. He was born April 23, 1930 at Southwest City, Missouri the son of Claude and Sarah (Fair) Burrous. He was raised in southern Missouri. He served in the U.S Army as a mechanic and he was a veteran of the Korean War. After returning from the service he lived at Holton and had several jobs there including a route for Meadow-Gold. He lived at Holton until he married Naomi Lincoln Ribordy on Aug. 16, 1957. Dutch owned and operated Burrous Excavating until retiring in the early 1980s. He and Naomi loved to camp at Perry Lake where he could spend time fishing. He also liked to work in the garden.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Naomi Burrous on Oct. 19, 2005, his son Loren in June of 1989 and his siblings, Juanita Alterman, Ruth Winston, Richard Burrous, Raymond Burrous, Robert Burrous, Alice Appling and Clarice Reese.

Survivors include his children, Wayne Ribordy and wife Lesa, Bob Ribordy and wife Vivian, Jerry Ribordy and wife Pat, Larry Ribordy and wife Rose, Roy Burrous and Belinda Price and husband Greg all of Topeka; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; his brother, Donald Burrous of St. Marys, KS and his sisters, Dorothy Rice of Westcliffe, Colorado and Ruby Duensing of San Diego, CA.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, Sept. 14th at Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Meriden Cemetery. He will lie in state from 3-9 pm Thursday where the family will receive friends from 7-8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Roy Burrous Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
