"W" was the son of Lewis Wilson and Mollie (Weninegar) Brooks, Sr. He attended Graham High School where he played basketball. On October 26, 1943 he enlisted with the United States Navy where he proudly served in the communications field until May 15, 1946. After actively serving his country, Mr. Brooks began his career with Halliburton Services where he was a faithful employee for 35 years. He retired on April 16, 1986.

He married Faye Owens August 17, 1965 in Las Vegas, NV. Together they lived in Wichita Falls, Jacksboro, Possum Kingdom Lake, and Midland. Mr. Brooks lived a full and gracious life surrounded by those who love him dearly. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and endearing charm. His family and friends have been abundantly blessed by his devotion to each of us. He will be dearly missed. He died after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's Disease.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Wilma Sims, Elisa Neve, and Gwendolyn Thompson, brother, Russell Brooks, daughter, Jana Lee Brooks, grandson, Cameron Brooks, and step-daughter-in-law, Mary Lynn Fowler.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements were under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home in Graham.
