Marianna was born in Neuendorf, Germany, the daughter of Johann and Maria Anna Brandt Neuf, married April 30, 1830. If she had siblings, they are unknown.
Marianna married Johann Heidenfelder from Harrbach, Germany on May 19, 1856. They had five children, Johann (John Frank), Maria Anna, Valentine, Magdelena (died at 3 months), and Ludwig (1864-1885).
Marianna's husband Johann died March 3, 1870, in Harrbach Germany. Sons Johann and Valentine emigrated to America in 1881. Ludwig died in 1885 at age 20, just 2 years before the balance of the family came to America.
Shortly before 1887, Valentine returned to Germany to bring his widowed mother Marianna, his sister Maria, and her two sons, Ludwig and Joseph to America. They departed on the S.S. Weser and arrived in Baltimore on Aug 10th, 1887. Valentine was 28, Maria Anna 59, Maria 30, Ludwig 8 and Joseph 7.5 months old.
The 1900 census shows that Marianna had been here for 13 years and was 67 years old. By that time, her daughter Maria had married John Freymyer and had two more sons, Leslie and George, and a daughter Mary. She was living with her daughter, son-in-law, and their children on Orleans St. in Pacific, MO, where the family had settled.
By 1910, Marianna was living at Little Sisters of the Poor Home for the Aged at 3400 Grand Avenue in the City of St. Louis. She died in November of that year.
Marianna was my GG Grandmother.
