Peggy Hogan

Peggy Hogan, age 87, of 168 Westminister Court, Danville, died on Thursday, January 20, 2011 in the Danville Regional Medical Center.

Born July 24, 1923 in Halifax County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John R. Chaney and Mamie Eppes Chaney. She lived most of her life in Danville and was a homemaker and wife to her husband Henry H. Hogan who predeceased her in November 2005.

Mrs. Hogan was a member of First Baptist Church, and a former member of The Wednesday Club and the Wayside Garden Club.

Survivors include one son: Michael O. Hogan of Danville; one sister: Barbara Hodges of Farmville, VA.; two brothers: John R. Chaney, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC and Thomas Chaney of Kinston, NC; one granddaughter: Ashley H. Stathos and her husband Sam of Myrtle Beach, SC; two great-grandchildren: Ella Stathos and Costa Stathos, also of Myrtle Beach.

A memorial service officiated by Rev. Joe Northern will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Danville. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. At other times, they will be at the residence, 168 Westminister Court, Danville.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Danville Life Saving Crew, 202 Christopher Lane, Danville, VA 24541.
