Dorothy Jean Angelone, passed away at 4:19 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2008. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at the Pat H. Foley Funeral Home, 1200 W. 34th Street, Houston. A funeral service will be at the same location 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15. A second viewing will be 2 to 3 p.m. followed by a short service in Marlin, at Adams Funeral Home, 129 Coleman Street. Jeannie will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Clover Hill Cemetery located in Lott, Texas.
Jeannie was the daughter of the late Byron Franklin Bull and Iva Lee (Erwin) Bull, the youngest of three children. She graduated from Marlin High School in 1950. Jeannie enjoyed school and took part in many activities. She played softball and lettered four years in basketball and volleyball. She also took part in debate, speech and poetry contests. One of her greatest pleasures was being elected class favorite. In college she was asked to go to one-act play contests two different years, where she won both superior and excellent awards (which is the highest given for each year).
After the death of her husband on November 20, 1990, she moved back to Marlin where she became an enthusiastic civic worker. She was a member of Eastern Star and past President of the Evening Lions Club. She was also a member of the Marlin Civic Club, The Hospital Auxiliary and The Green Thumb Garden Club. She served on the boards of The Little Theatre, Texas Youth Commission and secretary of the Reagan Homecoming Association for many years.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony; and brothers, Clifford Bull and Byron Layton Bull.
Jeannie leaves behind her children, Lenny Angelone and his wife, Redonda, Janet Angelone, Jamie Angelone and Mark "Punkey" Angelone; grandchildren, Kelli Angelone, Courtnee Angelone, Shelby Angelone and A.J. Angelone; her sister, Doris "Pinky" Moore and her husband, Floyd David "Buster" Moore; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
