James R. "Bob" Cottingim, 72 of Millington passed away Thursday, October 6, 2005 at his home in Millington. He was born May 13, 1933 in Newark, IL the son of Clarence and Eula (George) Cottingim. He married Dianne Holmes on February 23, 1957 in Aurora, IL. He was a member of the Plano American Legion. He was a Korean War Veteran having served in the US Army. Bob enjoyed his family, farming and driving about anything.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne of Millington; three daughters, Brenda (Kevin) Jensen of Millington, Susan (Ira) Steevens of Sandwich, and Amy (Mike) Ripsky of Millington; three sons, Bob (Lisa) Cottingim, Jr. of Sheridan, John (Michelle) Cottingim of Shorewood, and Steven (Deborah) Cottingim of Newark; 14 grandchildren, Brad (Julianna) Jensen, Kim Jensen, Kevin Jensen II, Rebecca Cottingim, Andrea, Alicia, and Brian Cottingim, Christopher, Jason, and Ian Steevens, David Hull, Jessie McGava, Abigail Ripsky, Paige Cottingim; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Cottingim of Plano, IL; one brother, Bill (Edna) Cottingim of Newark; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Margaret Kimbro.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2005 at Turner Funeral Home (1/4 mile west of Eldamain Rd. and Rt. 34 intersection on Turner Ave.) in Plano, IL with Pastor Jeffrey Pears officiating. Burial will follow in Millington-Newark Cemetery in Millington. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 9th in the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Seasons Hospice.
