Phyllis Jean Buchanan, 75, of Callahan, passed away August 10, at Shands Jacksonville.
She was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania. She was a founding member of First Alliance Church in Hilliard, Florida.
She is survived by her husband, Hugh Buchanan, Jr. of Callahan; 2 sons, Thomas (Pam) Buchanan of Folkston, and Wray (Janell) Buchanan of Callahan; and a daughter, Pamela (Jeffrey) Hicks, Callahan. Eight grandchildren; Jimmy Buchanan, Bridget Lindsey, Jessica Buchanan, Jared Buchanan, Lee Buchanan, Amber Buchanan, Brian Hicks, and Bradley Hicks. Two brothers; Paul McClimans of Orange Park, FL and Robert McClimans of West Middlesex, PA.
The family will receive friends Tuesday August 12 at Shepard Funeral Home from 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 13 at 11:00PM at the Shepard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ted Heglund. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL.
Arrangements are under the direction of Shepard Funeral home in Folkston, GA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Alliance Church of Hilliard, P. O. Box 32, Hilliard, FL. 32046 for Gideon Bibles and The Great Commission Missionary Fund.
