Daughter of Michael Silvester Howell and Elizabeth Betsey Redwine of Cobb County, Georgia. Michael Howell was son of Isaac and Margaret Tucker Howell and brother of Mary Anne Howell Pittman.

Married George Washington Pittman on November 19,1869, in Cobb County according to Georgia Marriage Records 1808-1967. The couple was indexed in the 1870 US Census living in California, Paulding County, Georgia with their first child Beulah Magnolia 11 months.

The couple had eleven known children. The younger two children Lizzie May and Howard Grady apparently did not live past the year 1898 when their father George W. left Georgia for Texas. Their first born son, Robert Rene, died at six years of age and is buried in the Howell Family Cemetery. She was the granddaughter of Isaac Howell for whom the cemetery is named. Many of her Pittman relatives by marriage are interred there.

The circumstances of Emma June Howell Pittman's death are not known, but her death at the age of 45, left six of her eleven children for George Washington to raise. Daughters Beulah and Lula remained in Georgia for their entire lives, while the rest of her children migrated to Texas with their father.
