Obituary

Edna Pearl "Terry" Accardo, age 88, passed away peacefully February 7, 2011 at Rose House Assisted Living. She was born on June 25, 1922, in Whitehouse, TX, to W.S. "Jack" and Lottie Terry and grew up in Port Arthur and Beauxart Gardens in Nederland. She married Leonard Accardo of Port Arthur where they made their home and celebrated 67 years together prior to his death in March 2009.

A charter member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, she devoted many years of service in the Altar Society and other church functions. She also worked tirelessly with the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women.

Her loving and compassionate nature reached out to everyone she knew and led her to volunteer work with Meals On Wheels and childcare programs.

Mrs. Accardo is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; son, Mark and sisters, "Tootsie" Hubert and Norma Bailey. She is survived by her children, Diane Caldwell and husband James, Terry Lynn Boudreaux, Leonard David Accardo, Lori Trosclair and husband Tommy; grandchildren, Shelly Porter and husband Jeff, Todd Caldwell, Steve Caldwell and wife Gretchen, Lynn Caldwell, Dwayne Boudreaux and wife Laura, Bradley Boudreaux and wife Shanna; great grandchildren, Jessica, Cody, Dylan Porter, Shawn and Austin Caldwell, Coleton and Haley Boudreaux and sisters, Nelda Smith and Marjorie Seabolt. In addition to her loving family, many dear and special friends blessed her life.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, February 11, 2011, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff at Rose House, the private sitters, and Odyssey Hospice for their exceptional care and devotion to their mother.
