Mildred Elizabeth Bell was the daughter of Mary Louisa Walker and John Conner Bell. She was the granddaughter of John Duce Walker and Florence Ellen Hammons, and the granddaughter of O. H. “Haz” Bell and Ida J. Conner. Mildred was born November 8, 1918, in Houston County, Texas, where her parents were farming in the Hickory Creek community near Ratcliff, Texas.
In January of 1922 Mildred’s mother passed away at the age of 27, leaving Mr. Bell with three small children, Mildred 3, Reba 2 and Mary Louise, a new born. About 1924 John Bell married Era Duren. Sometime before 1930, Mr. Bell relocated the family to Houston in Harris County where he was employed as a truck driver for an oil company.
About 1937 Mildred Bell married Benjamin Nathaniel Little, Jr., the son of Benjamin Nathaniel Little, Sr. and Earle Glynn Burr. Bee and Mildred lived in Houston where Bee was employed as a tank car repairmen for a petroleum refinery. They had two children, a son Glenn and a daughter Theresa.
Mildred’s husband Bee passed away in 1988. Mildred passed away April 18, 1997 in Pasadena, Texas, at the age of 78.
