After a long and brave battle with Parkinson's, Phyllis R. Giesche, 86, recently passed away in her home from complications of the disease. Phyllis and her late husband, Thor Giesche, built Giesche Shoes in Glen Ellyn, where she remained an active participant into her 80s. She is survived by her loving sons, Gary, Brian and Gregory; one granddaughter; and three stepgrandchildren. Calling will be at the Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn on Sunday, Oct. 24, where her funeral service will be held on Monday. Mrs. Giesche will be interred in Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside.
