Carl 'Otto' Hoglund was born to Mattias and Brittia Hoaglund on 29 May 1883 in Phelps Co. NE. The Hoglund family consisted of Carrie Hoglund Boehl, Tillie Hoglund Johnson, Nels Hoaglund, Alice Hoaglund, John Hoaglund, Victor Hoaglund, and Arthur Hoaglund.

Otto married Ellen Peterson on 22 Feb 1910 in Phelps Co, NE.
Two daughters were born to this union, Marna (b 9 Jul 1911 - 24 Aug 1985) and Myra (b 11 Sep 1915 - 2 Dec 1927).
The family was in a serious accident in Dec 1927. Myra died as a result of the accident and Marna suffered a punctured lung.

Otto and Ellen farmed one mile north and 1 1/2 miles west of Atlanta for several years. Otto raised horses on this farm. They then moved to the farm one mile north of Atlanta. This farm was later made part of a game preserve.

Otto passed away on 9 Aug 1956 at his home north of Atlanta.
