Corporal Wilson S. Buskirk, was killed on August 25, 1864 at "The Battle of Halltown," West Virginia. He was born on March 22, 1841, Monroe County, Ohio the son of Samuel D. Buskirk (1797-1876) and Martha (Williams) Buskirk. He had joined Company E of the 116th Ohio Volunteer Infantry on August 22, 1862 for a 3-year service. He leaves his father, two brothers and two sisters to mourn his loss. He was buried at Antietam National Cemetery,, Sharpsburg, Maryland. Corporal Wilson Shannon Buskirk was 23 years old
