Frances Neil Hormell, 70, of 1255 Highland Drive, California, died at 5:15 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, 1994, at her home. She was born December 17, 1923, in California, a daughter of Mabel Casteel Neil of California and the late James McAlpine Neil. Mrs. Hormell was a lifelong resident of California, where she was a member of the United Christian Church. She was a homemaker, married to Oliver N. Hormell, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, J.W. Hormell, an attorney in Chicago, Ill., and Dr. Johnson Grant of Altoona; four brothers, William, Richard, and Raymond Neil, all of California, and James Neil of the state of California; and a sister, Mabel McCallum of Luty, Fla. Deceased are two daughters, Barbara and Laurel.
