Tillier L. Gray, Jr., 77, of rural Mondovi, passed away Friday, October 15, 2010 at his home with his family at his side.
He was born on June 4, 1933 in the Town of Mondovi, Buffalo County, WI to Tillier and Hattie (Gunderson) Gray. After high school graduation, he served in the U. S. Army from February, 1956 until December, 1957. While serving in Germany he was able to visit his relatives in Norway. He attended Chippewa Valley Technical College where he attained a degree in Agricultural Production. On November 2, 1963 he married Vera Rongholt in Strum, WI. For most of his life, Tillier farmed in the Town of Dover. He enjoyed sports, music, mechanical work and most of all, his family.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Vera of Mondovi; four children, Cheryl (Mike) Darsie of Eau Claire, Jodi (Jim) Marsolek of Mondovi, Jeff (Lisa) Gray of Mondovi and Lisa (Dan) Wulff of Mondovi; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two brothers, Duane (Sandy) Gray of Mondovi and Claire (Lucille) Gray of Rochester, MN; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Tillier was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Francis and Ivan Gray; and one sister, Dolores Crowell.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, rural Mondovi, WI with Rev David Bangert officiating. Burial will be at the Good Shepherd Cemetery with military rites conducted by Gilmanton American Legion Post #264.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kjentvet - Smith Funeral Home in Mondovi and for one hour before the service at the Church on Tuesday.
