Dub was the son of W B Denham, Sr. and his second wife, Pheoby Jane Hudson. He enlisted in the Army before he married (20 Feb 1951), but was discharged soon thereafter (21 Nov 1951). Dub married when he was 23 to Martha Lee Dodson-Denney in Gainesville, Cooke, Texas in 1952, but they settled in the area around Lone Grove, Carter, OK.
Dub and his wife Martha had (at least) five kids together, Jerry, Debbie, Wendell, Randy, and Kathy. There is a brief biopic about Dub in the Daily Ardmoreite in Jul 1962 which says:
"W B Denham was born at Brock, lives at Overbrook, and has worked for a sheet metal concern in Ardmore for the last six years [meaning from 1956]. He and his wife, Martha, are the parents of James Denney, 18; Roy (Denney), 16; Linda, (Denney), 13, Charles (Denney), 10; Jerry, 8; Debra, 7; Wendell, 6, and Randy, 5. W B likes to hunt squirrels and the family also does some fishing." Their youngest daughter, Kathy was not yet born.
