Norman Asbell, Jr.

SHREVEPORT, LA - Norman Asbell, Jr., 60, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on April 27, 2012. He was born July 15, 1951 in Eldorado, Arkansas, but spent a majority of his life in Blanchard, LA.

Norman was a six-year veteran of the United States Marine Corp and proudly served in Okinawa, Japan during the Vietnam War.

Norman Jr. was an honorable man with a heart of gold, always willing to go the extra mile for anyone in need. He was a hard-working and dependable man with an admirable work ethic. He cherished his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Norman Jr. is survived by his parents, whom he treasured, Norman Sr. and Sallie Asbell; his brother, Marrion Joe and wife Gloria Asbell; his sister, Kay and husband John Perez; along with the nieces and nephews he enjoyed spoiling and teasing; and a host of dear friends.

Norman Asbell Jr. will be buried with Military Honors on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, 5382 Primitive Baptist Church Road, Blanchard, LA 71107. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM with services and burial immediately following at 2:00 PM, with Elder W.C. Hatton officiating. Elder Hatton will be assisted by Bro. Raymond Davis and a nephew, Bro. Danny Joe Asbell.
