Son of Solomon Dill Sutton and Martha S Forbrush. Wife was Mary A Taylor. William A and Mary A had 9 children, six born in Texas, three born in Oklahoma.

Family story told was that William Alexander and son William Walter got into some trouble with some unsavory characters on a train to El Paso, Texas. Totally unknown to the family still living as to what exactly the trouble was and the particular circumstances of their deaths.

Elk City, OK library: Obit's box - found an item from newspaper. It stated that William Alexander's son, William Walter had gone somewhere in Texas and gotten into some kind of trouble. William Alexander went after him and they both got shot. Stands to reason because of the death dates on headstones. Story was also verified by keeper of Carter Cemetery records. Wife of Walter William, Hattie Jane Anderson Sutton, (daughter of Mitchel Henry Anderson and Lovicia Aveline Ivester Anderson) went by train and got the bodies and brought them back to Oklahoma.

New Mexico Death Index shows death to have been in or around Los Alamos, New Mexico.
