Francis was born to Andrew Jackson Brown and Susan Margaret Wallace Brown in Greene County, IL. He has two brothers, John Walters and Charles Milton. Three sisters, Eunice Florinda; Ellen Louisa and Julia. Wish I knew what went wrong in Franks life because he was not a good father or husband. Frank miss-treated his wife and children. Police in Jerseyville and Alton knew him well as the laziest and meanest man in town. Put his children to work in the Glass Works in Alton and took their money and spent it on drinking. Beat them badly and abandon them to the point of homelessness where they were discovered living in the open air with no shelter and minimal clothing. Children were taken from Lola and she was place in the Poor House.
Francis had 11 children w/Lola Belle (Bruce) Children are:
At the time of his death he was quoted as saying he had ten children. Not able to find Mary in the 1910 census. She either died or was adopted after being removed from the home. Also, the boys went my many names, which has caused much confusion. I believe Lenan; Len and Lynn are the same person. Found with the same middle name on probate record.

Andrew Jackson Brown
(my grandfather) 7/27/1885-11/27/1949
Leander; Lee Ander; Lee Lander; Lee Brown 1886/1965
Lynn; Len; Lenan Wallace Brown 1888/1931
Dollie May Brown 1890/1967 (Gent)
Charles Joseph Brown 1892
William Francis Brown 1894
Mary E Brown 1895
Julia Elizabeth Brown 1898
Jessie Belle Brown 1901-1936 (Snyder)
Henry Olin Brown 1902-1959
Harry Melvin Brown 1905

As of now, I know four of their children are buried at Oak Grove Cemetery, Jerseyville, IL. They are Leander (Lee); Lynn Brown, Jessie (Brown) Snyder, and Andrew Jackson Brown. All four are in unmarked graves. Henry Olin Brown died falling from a train near Lincoln, IL and struck by another train. He is buried with honors in the Camp Butler Cemetery in Springfield, IL
Probate records show Lola Bell was suing the railroad for the death of her husband.
