Funeral service for Mr. Timothy Lymon East, 53, of Daviston, will be Monday, November 19, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Daviston Baptist Church. Rev. Bennie Lee Yates and Rev. Jimmy Sprayberry will officiate. Burial will follow in the Rocky Mount Primitive Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Daviston Baptist Church.

Mr. East passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012 at Lake Martin Community Hospital from injuries sustained in an accident. He was born on January 21, 1959 in Alexander City, Alabama to Edward Lymon East and Wilma Eloise Bullard East. He was an active member of Daviston Baptist Church and had served as the Sunday School Director. Tim grew up in the New Site Community and graduated from New Site High School and received and associates degree from Central Alabama Community College. He was elected Mayor of Daviston and was a member of the Daviston Volunteer Fire Department. He was a past Chief of both the Daviston and New Site Volunteer Fire Departments and was a volunteer with EMTACT 8. Mr. East was active in the Boy Scouts of America and served as the Leader of Troup 62. Many young men achieved the Eagle Scout award under his leadership. He was a volunteer missionary to Venezuela and Honduras. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 23 years and was serving as the Postmaster at the Camp Hill, AL Post Office. He had the ability to fix anything and was willing to help anyone who needed him. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his nephews and nieces. He was a loving father, husband, and friend who was a humble servant and giving person.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Ginger Moran East of Daviston; daughter, Lydia Ruth East of Birmingham; sons, Talmadge Lymon East of Daviston, and Timothy Len East of Ft. Stewart, GA; mother, Wilma Eloise Bullard East of Ozark; sister, Brenda Peters (Vearl), of Ozark; brothers, Henry East (Mary), of New Site and Phillip East of Dadeville; sister-in-law, Lori Carlisle (John) of Daviston; brother-in-law, Wesley Moran of Daviston; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Lymon East.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alabama Baptist Children's Homes, P.O. Box 361767 Birmingham, AL 35236-1767, Daviston Baptist Church, 211 Church St, Daviston, AL 36256 or to Four Corners Ministries, 715 Avenue A, Suite 206 Opelika, Alabama 36801.
