CSA Congressman. He served as a delegate to Louisiana Secession Convention in 1861, and after the outbreak of the Civil War as a Delegate from Louisiana to the Confederate Provisional Congress (1861 to 1862) and Representative from Louisiana in the Confederate Congress (1862 to 1864).
