Jacinto Vasquez II, 79, of Lubbock passed away on Thursday, Jan., 6, 2011.

He was born on Jan. 16, 1931, in Harlingen, Texas, to the late Jacinto Sr. and Santos Vasquez.

He married Rosita Martinez on Oct. 15, 1952, in Lubbock. She preceded him in death on July 18, 2007.

He was a retired farmer. He moved to Lubbock in 1949 from Rio Grand Valley. He was a member of The Freedom of Ministry, known for prison ministry.

Jacinto loved to play his guitar for the lord. He was well-known for playing at rosary and prayer services.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Ann DeClerk, in 2005.

Survivors include four sons, David and Susan Vasquez, Emilio Antonio Vasquez, Jacinto "JR" and Mary Lou Vasquez, all of Lubbock, and Elias and Elizabeth Vasquez of College Station; a daughter, Isabel Vasquez and Domingo Ibarra of Lubbock; a sister, Cirpiana and Juan Ramirez of Lubbock; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
